The inside of the shoe is rough, not soft. I wear small, invisible socks, so I always feel how rough the inside is (on top, under the tongue of the shoe), but if you're wearing socks that completely cover your foot, this shouldn't be a problem. To you. They're actually pretty cute and I've had them for almost a year now with no problems. I've washed them in the washing machine many times and these shoes have held up well. They wash great. I would recommend this shoe as a training shoe.
