Bought one of these. AC Delco, for my GM car. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase this item. AC Delco moved production of this product to China and replaced the impeller with a cast impeller. This is usually a good idea, but on Shortstar 3.5 it's not. I struggled with this for 2 weeks to get rid of the "air bubble" that was overheating the engine at low rpm. After spending hours and hours of my time (and nearly $50 on antifreeze) and countless hours trying to track down the problem, I bought a local repair pump with a plastic impeller identical to the original OEM shape and all the problems went away . The pump doesn't deliver enough flow below 2000 rpm to prevent the water in the motor from boiling and creating its own air pocket no matter how much you burp or deflate. Updated January 2013. Local aftermarket part still works great in car. Since then I've encountered other people who had the same problem as me: Delco's AC part was NOT working properly in this app. I spoke to AC Delco and the company that makes them for AC Delco. As far as I know nothing has been done to resolve the issue with the part. This is a case where aftermarket folks have done a better job of copying designs than OEMs. The only reason this gets one star is because I'm not allowed to put a zero.
