The product is presented with incorrect information. The description said "batteries" but not that the batteries are not in the radio, they have to be bought separately and they need a charger. The description says that the batteries that come with it charge when the radio is plugged in. Why not just say you can use mains or batteries (not included). No need to use rechargeable batteries...any AA batteries will do. I returned the radio and bought a Grace radio which has a battery and the radio charges the battery when plugged in.
