Review on Motorcycle Silicone Fondant Chocolate Runloo by Robin Detwiler

Detailed but tiny = lots of broken candies

This shape is incredibly detailed which I love. But I misunderstood the size and thought it was 4 inches not 4 cm. The amazing detail on such a small mold makes the resulting candy very fragile. I made 12 pralines from 3 types of chocolate and half of the pralines broke. The fragile spot is where the front fork meets the handlebars / where the front wheel meets the motor. After a few motorcycle "accidents" I had to "weld" a lot. The candy looks good in the end (at least from the front), but I wouldn't recommend a mold that's that detailed and that small. Also, when making chocolate, I want more than one small mold. If it were a large mold I could make less candy. If you decide to buy this mold, when filling with chocolate, pour in a thin stream and fill until there is a little more chocolate in the mold than needed. Then DO NOT scrape off the excess. more strength and prevents breakage during demoulding.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Disappear
