This UV light can work for some purposes but puts out too much visible light for my needs.

I use a lot of different neon, fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark materials and even invisible UV inks. Let's assume I'm actually very qualified for this review. I prefer newer LED UV bulbs like these over older incandescent bulbs but my issue with this particular light is that the product descriptions state that the nominal wavelength is 320-420nm. , then the Sansi team posted in the Customer Questions section that its peak wavelength is 396nm, which is also listed in the technical manual that came with it. Yes, technical information can be boring, but in such cases, it's also extremely important, and here's why. The visible colors that you normally see in light are mostly above 400 nm (nanometers). The UV (ultraviolet) spectrum is light below what some animals are meant to see, and it affects many things in different ways. 420nm as stated in the description, after 400nm it becomes ineffective. However, the Sansi team assures us that peaks occur at 396nm, unfortunately the strongest fluorescence effects occur in the 320-380nm range, with the optimal wavelength being 365nm. In their defence, 395nm UV LEDs, which offer decent levels of fluorescence, are very, very common because they are cheaper to manufacture and give us consumers savings. I don't have a real 365nm model. But even with cheaper models, it's extremely important that they actually peak at 390nm and never go beyond 400nm. Good fairies like ceramic and heatsink (mine never got hot at all) and while it works, if I push too much magenta shading to peak at 396nm it penetrates too far into the visible spectrum in my opinion, indeed some of my Invisible UV inks weren't even illuminated, meaning they emit a lot of visible light.
