Bought because of the many reviews and almost 5 stars, but the product did not convince me. When I come back here to leave a review, I see that the latest reviews say the formula and packaging have changed, so it's possible that all of these positive reviews are from the previous version. I haven't seen anyone specifically describe the taste and I would describe it as "chewing gum". It's not terrible to me, but not quite the scent I want to smell. And I have to agree with the reviews that say that it has practically no exfoliating properties. There are very few pieces of bamboo that are incredibly thin but almost as long as a grain of rice, and I don't see them peeling much. The liquid itself seems to have a few tiny darts, but none of them flake off, it all just looks like the same soapy substance. Almost like the glitter you find in some toothpastes - you can't feel the glitter but you can see it. This is NOTHING like, say, St. Ives. Everything is washed off perfectly, it is not felt on the skin. I have not noticed any rashes or negative effects on the skin. I like that they are cruelty-free. But. Due to the expense and inefficiency of the scrub and the unusual smell, I'll probably try something different next time. Skin this product is applied to: I work with normal (not oily or dry) skin, work a little outdoors so I sweat a little. My skin is a bit sensitive, not too much.
