Best results when punching directly on the embossing
I was also disappointed that the punches were mostly contour punches. I use Sizzix Big Shot and have had the best result by running it twice. First on the silicone embossing pad, then carefully put the stamp exactly on the incarnation and pass it through a regularly finely lit platform. It's not as tall as the manufacturer's picture but it's a big improvement and I can use it.
