This, like most Dyson stuff, is high quality and stylish but expensive. It is very quiet and forms no visible fog or condensation. The remote control is a nice touch, but unlike the fan, you don't have to use it for settings at all. As a humidifier, it has limited capabilities. We use it in a large room next to a piano, which ideally needs 50% relative humidity in winter. This device cannot do this alone.
