Review on 🚙 CURT 12097 Class 2 Trailer Hitch for Volkswagen Tiguan - 1-1/4-Inch Receiver, Enhanced Compatibility by Gerardo Cibrian

I bought one of these for my 2016 VW Tiguan as I have been very happy with Curt products in the past. Installation on the Tiguan is very simple, simply cut out the marked panel and screw on the coupling with four screws. When I tested my Thule 917XTR T2 1.25" 2 Bike Platform Hitch Rack, it was apparent that the Curt hitch was welded off at right angles, causing the rack to tilt a few degrees to the left. I contacted Curt Manufacturing customer service. and I was given the excuse that it was a bike rack and I would have to take measurements, photos etc to prove that it was! I need to call back for instructions on sending measurements and photos. With Kurt? Turn to Saris Cycling Group for a lesson in excellent customer service and a company that stands behind their products 100%. Thank you Revain for an easy no-questions-asked replacement policy. The delivery of the replacement item took less than 1 minute. Yay Revane! I hope the quality of the new replacement clutch was better! UPDATE: I got a replacement clutch from Revain, you know what? This coupling was also not square welded! This is where Kurt clearly has production issues. If you use this on a regular hitch you probably won't even notice it, but on a bike rack it's very obvious. I ended up returning that too and got a Reese Towpower 06625 hitch which is perfectly square.
