We used them in Northern California in the summer of 2018. Our area has had heavy smoke from local fires nearby for many weeks. Our health department has recommended everyone to use N95 masks outside. My wife is an RN and I am a retired state firefighter/EMT. I did a little research on silicone half face respirators. I also studied respirator filters. After speaking to 3M Tech we used them and found them exceptional. They are easy to breathe through and we found them very effective. Highly recommended for use in areas with a lot of wild smoke. Apparently they don't add oxygen or remove toxic gases. They remove very fine thermally generated particles, far better than any other filter we've found.
