I bought this cable when I added a new hard drive and I got an extra connector from the PSU. Unfortunately, when I plugged in my new hard drive and turned it on, the system immediately shut down. I was concerned that I might have a short somewhere, but since I was using a new cable and my PSU is 7 years old, I figured it was more likely that my PSU had issues. Using a multimeter, I found that I was not getting any voltage from my power supply, so I ended up buying a new power supply. After everything was connected with that Silverstone cable, the system immediately shut down again, but this time with a new power supply! Luckily the new PSU came with its own cables and after replacing the Silver Stone cable with the cables from the new PSU everything worked fine. I even went back and plugged new cables into my old PSU and found everything worked. My old PSU was Antec and my new PSU was SeaSonic. TLDR: Using this cable shorted out my system and now I don't have $100 for a new power supply I don't need. DO NOT BUY!
