I ordered this bookshelf a year ago and only got around to unpacking it last night. It was well packaged, there were no scuffs, although the box was punctured in two places during shipping. Assembly was easy, although instructions differed from actual installation. For example, he had an equipment list. This included eight pins that had to be inserted into the bookshelf to align the lid and hold it in place. Good thing there were no pegs in the kit. Mine was already installed as part of a bookshelf. It was also very easy to set up. It only took a minute after you took it out of the box. Wood has a nice smooth surface. More importantly, it lasts longer than I thought it would. I can't comment on durability as it's only been in use for a few days. I'm pretty sure it will hold up though as I went back to buy another one. I put them next to the sofa. Note: Cost: I bought mine on July 30, 2018 for $129.99. Now it's $142.42. I think it's a bit expensive but lately I don't have much experience to know how much something like this should cost. To be honest, the ease of assembly and installation so quickly justifies the price. Especially now that my life is full of stress. and the fact that I'm getting younger. So I appreciate the ease of setup. However, I will definitely come back to update my review if I run into any issues! Right now . I am happy with my purchase. I noticed that they have a tall bookshelf that appears to be at least twice the height of the one I bought. With this bookshelf, I got the impression that I would be suspicious of a tall bookshelf. if you plan to download it. You can put paper books on the top shelves, or some potted plants, etc. However, I always buy hardcover books and don't think about putting many of them on the top shelves. It is recommended that each tall bookcase be wall mounted. As our grandma would say. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!"
