Review on 8 oz Huberd's Leather Dressing: Enhanced with Neatsfoot Oil for Optimal Conditioning by David Elam

The seams are damaged but they worked perfectly on the skin.

At first I was very satisfied with this product. He transformed some old leather goods (jackets and boots) into very beautiful and elastic products. It darkens brown leather noticeably, but I actually liked the change. The feeling also improved and the boots and jacket looked almost new again. Both the jacket and boots were recoated about a year later as they became lighter and the results were again very good to excellent. I thought I had found the best skin care product. The problem I have is that I now have some fancy stitching on my jacket. I only fixed one so I could have a few more. The seams are no longer sewn in several places on the jacket. The boots now also have defective seams. After searching for an answer, it turned out that some seams can be damaged by some oil compounds. This product is not pure foot oil. Spend a few minutes searching Google for shoe compound sewing problems. I'm trying mink oil now, but it's too late for the jacket and boots. If I had a piece of leather with no stitches (maybe some straps) I would use this product. Otherwise use at your own risk.

Pros
  • Prevents the skin from drying out in all climate zones, slightly waterproofing
Cons
  • Protection
