Good durable canvas material, well dyed with even strong stitching. I received the cranberry color and it is exactly like the picture. It's not too big or too small. My phone doesn't quite fit in one of the front pockets, but it's enough to keep it secure yet close at hand. The main compartment offers enough space for my checkbook, credit card case, brushes and combs, hair sticks and coin purse. Haven't used the included shoulder strap yet, but it seems well made too. So far I am very happy with this bag.
