I had a previous model that I liked because of the small size (somehow it had a low battery early on and I could only play a maximum of one hour listening to the radio or music, but that was enough for me, and that was enough for > 5 years). This new model was more expensive and seemed a little bigger, but I still wanted that compact FM radio (with MP3) that seemed too unprecedented. I'm glad it works well and the reception is very good on stations with a strong signal (mostly in the city). The battery seems to last at least a couple of hours - I haven't fully charged it yet. I haven't tested the FM recording feature yet, but it worked well on my previous model. Minor cons: 1) The USB cap is even looser than my previous model. I use a piece of tape to secure it and also to prevent losing the cap while charging. 2) The redesigned "Hold" switch is poorly designed. It takes some effort to find it and switch back on track. 3) The LCD screen is difficult to read - very small print.
