Review on 💪 Axe Essence Antiperspirant - 2.70 oz, Pack of 6 (Packaging May Vary) by Steven Boyd

After more than 10 years of using Ax's unrivaled antiperspirant/deodorant (particularly the Essence fragrance), Ax decided to radically change the formula. The canister looks the same except for a change in wording from "All Day Dry" to "48H" and a new sticker that reads "new Smoother-Glide". This should be released as a new product. I bought this six pack not knowing that the formula changed in November 2018 (according to their website). I would give the old product 5 stars but this new formula is a solid 1 star. That's why. Some results I've found with the new formula: - No longer rinses off in the shower. Terrible feeling to try - Doesn't prevent sweating like the old formula (I haven't had a problem with sweating for 10 years with the old formula; I have problem with sweating every day with the new formula) - Irritating to the skin - not extreme, but uncomfortable.- Now feels like lard to apply - stays greasy after application. I think it's "smoother glide". Not desirable. The old formula was imperceptible after the exposure time, but the new formula is slimy all day - Odor now noticeably smells like coconut oil (ingredient list does not include Lude coconut oil) While not desirable, it is negligible compared to other concerns. The formula now has "isopropyl palmitate" in the ingredients and, importantly, a second ingredient. I'm not sure if this is the cause of the irritation, but the Material Safety Data Sheet for isopropyl palmitate lists skin irritation as a risk. Other new ingredients are "Mineral Oil" and "Stearet-100". I've attached photos of the old and new labels I made side by side so you can see for yourself. The Ax website has a reviews and Q&A section on every product page. If you are also unhappy with their changes, I would suggest letting them know. I hope they consider bringing back the old formula. Otherwise, for me this is the end of an unprecedented 10 year reign of the old formula and time to find something else. Note: This review is not meant to be a bad reflection of the Revain seller. The Revain salesman was great - no complaints. Arrived quickly and well packaged. This rating is intended to reflect the new Ax formula only.
