Altogether a decent duvet. Very happy with the thickness, weight and warmth. I like the blanket, but I'm not completely satisfied with it. First of all I knew the problems I was going to have with the first one but oh my god! The amount of lint you pull out in the first wash is insane! He was afraid he had ruined the washing machine or risked clogging the drain after taking it out. You should definitely shake it before putting it in the dryer to remove as much lint as possible, as you have to clean the lint filter every 10 minutes. I think I emptied mine 10 times and it was full. Washing this blanket is literally like tossing a small bale of raw cotton in the wash. Second, there are a few threads sticking out at the edge of the piece, which I don't think should have been an issue given the cost of this item. In terms of softness and softness, this is a waffle weave blanket and as far as I know, that doesn't happen. It's about as soft as I think a waffle weave can be. I'm sure you could make it softer by adding fabric softener to the wash, but when I think of waffle weave, softness isn't what I envision.
