My best friend's son was a month old and couldn't stop crying. I mean, she couldn't humiliate him at all. We assembled it and put it in and I'm not kidding when I say it went out like a light! It's so incredibly soft and the cover washes easily when he throws up or does other baby stuff on it (these photos were taken after we washed the cover due to baby puke). The rocking is nice and subtle, and the music is a little annoying, but it's not too loud and easy to turn off. The remote control is also great because honestly I got tired of crying for about an hour, so I imagine parents with newborns will probably appreciate all the free time they can get. The timer works beautifully and overall it's definitely a swing that he'll be using for a long time when he comes to visit me! At first we thought it was broken, but it turned out that the lock switch, which controls whether or not the swing moves, was in an intermediate position. So if you're having any of these issues, make sure the switch is pushed all the way down so it can move freely. We spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong before coming up with this simple fix.
