I'm not thrilled that the yellow pin broke off and ended up in my baby's mouth. Luckily, my mother, who was taking care of my daughter at the time, diligently takes care of her when she is playing with toys, otherwise it would have been too much for my daughter. Apparently because it's wood, it broke in half after just holding it against a plastic surface and shaking it. I clean toys with a solution of water and vinegar and a microfiber cloth to avoid damaging the wood. My daughter is 5 months old and didn't get interested in shaking until she was 3 months old, so it hasn't been used that long. Just a word of wisdom - please supervise your child when playing with this toy. We also only used this toy for manipulation and not mouth sucking, but sometimes this is inevitable and will happen, but I offer her other toys when I realize that's what she needs.
