Ok, but wouldn't purchase again.

My daughter bought this for her daughter, my granddaughter, for her birthday. From reading the reviews my daughter knew that this tripod was a little more on the flimsier side but for what she needed it for it didn't have to be indestructible. So that really wasn't a big deal. What both my daughter and granddaughter didn't like was how hard it is to put your cell phone in the Smartphone mount holder. She has an LG V20, which is a big phone, but it's smaller than the 3.4 inches that it says it can fit up to. She does have to take her case off in order for the phone to fit and her case is a thin jelly case, that's a pain. Trying to extend out the holder is not very easy. I have to hold one side of the phone mount while extending the other side which also is the hand she has her phone in and she just has to get the phone in there quick before the mount slings back down to original size. Once the phone is in, you really have to press the phone against the mount to make sure the phone isn't going to pop out. It feels like the phone doesn't want to sit flat against the holder if that makes sense. You can adjust the smartphone mount in a lot of different angles which is nice my daughter said but then when she has a certain angle locked in it sometimes doesn't stay all the way, the angle changes just a little bit which in turn changes your picture but the height is also adjustable all the way from 50" down and anything in between. So if you're trying to do like a DIY photo booth and you want your camera locked in a certain position, which is was what my daughter was doing she would have to continually fix the camera angle. She would also have to be very gentle when pressing the camera button on her phone because the mount would move if the phone was touched too much. Overall it's an OK tripod but my daughter wouldn't purchase it again. It is ok for personal occasional use but for anything you're trying to do even a little professionally than I would go with another tripod. The mount is just a little too hard to use and maneuver. It did come with a carrying bag though which was nice.

Pros
  • Accessories
Cons
  • The weight of the tripod may make it difficult to carry around
