Used with my Hyper X headphones with mic, did the job. I'm not a music lover and haven't spoken to any of them, so I can't confirm the true depth of clarity or how many decibels of bass are present when using this adapter compared to without the adapter. If you just need a splitter to use for general gaming, to troubleshoot an issue so your close friend/relative can use their headset with devices that need channel splitting, etc., everything works fine. Whether it goes 100% through your $500 headphones I don't know. I'll let you know when I have it :)
