I love this much more than a rubber mat! First, it fits tight spaces like walls or corners because the sides are straight instead of round. Second, it catches a lot more dirt than it flies out. It's very thin so I don't think you'll trip over it. Once you learn how to push it apart it will be easy. It's also easy to wipe off excess dust or incidents. Our cat sometimes scratches it, there are no stains or damage. Our cat destroyed the previous rubber mat we had and it was difficult to clean and just plain useless. Overall a great product and we can't imagine life without this rug.
