Review on KC HiLiTES 7" Round 60/55w H4 DOT Headlight - Set of 2: Perfect Lighting Solution by Haggis Bryant

When a rodent chewed through the stock headlight wiring on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimted (JK), the extent of the damage forced me to build a new wiring harness. This gave me the opportunity to solve a number of lighting issues that most JK owners have, including the limitations imposed by using the H13 headlight connector and having the computer run all the lighting (resulting in a drop in performance leads) are caused. In addition to my H4 connectors, I chose this KC HiLiTES reflector and lamp kit. This was partly due to the cost, but also because of KC HiLiTES' excellent reputation. After installing the headlights, I have to say that I am very disappointed. The first thing I noticed was that the low beams were even more amber than the stock bulbs. I'm guessing they're somewhere around 2500-2700K while OEM's are between 3500K and 3700K. Very little side light. When switching to high beam, I experienced a completely different impression. The high beam was far superior to the OEM bulbs and the pattern was accurate. The beam was almost perfectly white from 5000K to 5500K and had no hot spots. Unfortunately, the bad low beam has already made me look for new headlights for my Jeep. I really wanted to like this KC HiLiTES, but I just can't.
