I bought these bulbs to replace about a dozen of the old traditional halogen bulbs in my kitchen cabinet lights and overall I'm happy with the result. They were fairly easy to install, despite being a fraction of an inch longer than the bulbs I replace. Lights have reflectors that ensure a good fit. If they get as hot as regular incandescent bulbs I'd be concerned, but since the heat output is negligible I'm willing to leave them in contact with the reflectors. Otherwise they went in without any problems and worked 100% without any problems. I like the low heat output. Earlier halogen lights got so hot that the inside of the cabinets above the lights usually felt quite warm after the light was on for several hours. The LEDs in these new lamps are completely opposite. The energy savings are also impressive. We went from 12 x 20W = 240W to 12 x 1.5W = 18W. This is a huge saving. In real terms, in dollars and cents, if we use conventional incandescent bulbs eight hours a day, that's about 2 kWh per day, or about $8 per month at my electricity rates. LEDs reduce energy consumption to around 4 kWh per month, which is less than fifty cents. These savings are approximately $90 per year. I would classify the light quality as satisfactory to good. The color temperature is slightly cooler (bluer) than the halogen bulbs I replaced. The fixtures they are in have "Low" and "High" settings. With these LED bulbs, there isn't much of a difference between the two, although the 'low' setting was noticeably dimmer with the regular bulbs. This doesn't matter much though - flickering is noticeable at low settings. There is a slight flickering at high settings, but this is not very noticeable in most cases.
