Refills don't leak and I've used them to capacity and turned them on their sides all day. I will change the rating if there is a leak. but due to user error. I was crooked, narrow. but it's ugly lol. One thing that's annoying is that it's difficult to turn it on and off because you can't unscrew the lid all the way. _____________________________________________ UPDATE 9/29 Finally back to update this review. Part of it is user error, and part of it is poorly designed. I would say 30/70. The swivel cap must be CORRECTLY oriented. If it's off by even a tiny millimeter, it'll flow like crazy. ALSO if you overtighten (if it's lined up CORRECTLY) it will also leak. Basically, make sure it's aligned properly when you turn it, and make sure you don't over-tighten it. Chances are, most people who complain make one or both of these mistakes. Also, the hole is too small to drink from. The straw part works as intended.
