I have used them as glove box lights and dash lights. You are bright enough. I would say even though they are blue they are still a bit brighter than the original #194 bulbs. The pattern gives good dispersion. Do they also have aluminium? coat around the emitters. I believe this provides cooling, extends life and protects the emitters. In my case, the bulbs under the dash don't have a factory diffuser, so sometimes they can burn out. Therefore a shield in this form or a lens over the emitter seemed important. Even if it's a matter of taste, I think blue is great. I've tried a few cheaper bulbs with plastic lens caps. The first had good light diffusion, but it wasn't bright enough. The second was brighter but worked more like a spotlight. I can't say anything about the durability, but they all worked immediately.
