After reading other reviews I bought my 8 year old (average height and weight) size 10-12 and it fits perfectly. Bought several in burgundy and navy blue. I've washed them once or even twice a week for the last two months and they have absolutely no fading or pilling. They still look like new! I can't stress this enough. I'm so used to cotton uniforms that fade after a month or two and don't look good. These Nautica shirts are awesome! My daughters wear it loose and untucked and it still looks great paired with a skirt and shorts because the shirts taper slightly at the waist to look flattering but still have a relaxed/comfortable loose fit that goes over a skirt and shorts, but still looks polished and not dingy, if that makes sense. And the length is great, not too short and not too long. It's also great for layering under her uniform dresses as the material is not bulky, lays flat under her dress and is great for hot weather. Of all the uniforms we bought this year, these are the shirts we choose for everyday wear. Would buy them again. The best uniform top. To be on the safe side, I machine wash warm and hang them to air dry - the material doesn't hold much water, so they dry in about an hour. So if you washed them the night before and hung them out to dry, they'll be ready to use the next day.
