We just got a mattress for a new bed frame we installed and it's a slatted platform bed so I didn't like the mattress idea. only open and uncovered below. I wanted the mattress to be fully encased to give it extra protection. It was a bit uncomfortable but I was able to put it on myself (thankfully the mattress wasn't very heavy as it's only full size). I love that the cover zips up completely at the top so you can wash it if you want without having to remove the entire cover. I received a set with an additional outer fabric. The zip worked fairly easily and there is velcro on the zip but it doesn't look like the industrial "bed bug" velcro on some other cases. I think the little bugs might be able to get through, but who knows, it's still a much better defense than nothing. The fabric was a bit shinier on the inside and softer on the outside. The material is very thin, so I'm wondering about the durability. The one I received said it would fit a 6" to 10" mattress, but our 10" mattress still had a lot of sag so it would definitely fit more. Although it appeared baggy, it posed didn't pose a problem for me once I covered it with a mattress topper. The fabric felt smooth once on the mattress and I was concerned about the noise level, but then again I put a mattress topper on it I think it's probably not the most durable case which you can buy but for the affordable price and ease of use with the detachable top I still think it would work great for what I need.
