I'm a radio amateur and enjoy tinkering with software defined radios, especially if it helps with my hobby. I've had cheaper versions of RTL-SDR keys and they tend to fall short when it comes to oscillator stability. This means a stable narrowband signal will drift when you see it on the waterfall display, and when you're trying to snag a satellite pass it's an unforgivable downside. One of the first cheap keys I bought was scattered everywhere, so much so that it was useless for anything other than the occasional tinkering with the spectrum. NooElec NESDR Mini+ is significantly more stable. I use it with their boost converter (also housed in a zesty blue aluminum case). To keep them from dangling I use velcro to secure them which makes cable management much easier. The only downside to this model is that the circuit board wobbles a bit inside the case and sounds like it's rattling.
