Review on Wi-Fi hotspot Ubiquiti UniFi AC Mesh, white by Adam Woniak ᠌

The average product, you can find a better one.

A good device in terms of hardware, design. Beautiful software, everything flows smoothly, but does not work. After torment, trial and enumeration of options - it works. In general, the feeling that the infrastructure was being completed or redone right on the go, so maybe I was unlucky, and then the number of inaccuracies will decrease. Suitable for experienced in the products of this company, enthusiasts. It is inconvenient for those who want to manually manage addresses, settings, protocols, since a lot has been done here through the "do it well" button, and what's under the hood is none of your business.

Pros
  • Appearance, fastening, wire connection - fine. I would like to set such devices as an example. PoE is very convenient. I took it for him. Should support seamless WiFi routing if configured. Pleasantly surprised that there is access via SSH with full rights.
Cons
  • I don't remember such a bad setup for a long time. A quarter of all buttons and instructions do not work or contain errors. Errors even on the support site, when my ubiquity product category was not available (it worked in a couple of days). There will be inaccuracies when you need to download the Controller software in the instructions, but there are 2 different packages Network controller and SDN controller posted on the site - which one to download? When setting up, the "Next" button does not work - you sit and do not understand what to do next. The next day, by brute force, I discovered that not only the red inscription about a short password, but also the yellow inscription about "Password strength - so, so" that replaced it means that it is impossible to continue. But by extending the password, the button worked. There are no default passwords in the instructions. I found some and substituted somewhere - it came up. If normal devices are configured by calling the browser to IP devices, then only Chrome is allowed here (only for this it had to be installed). For autosearch, you need to deliver the application to it. They didn't force me to switch to Windows though. Constantly having to agree with an incorrect certificate. That is, https is done, but there is no certificate yet. Finally, the Cloud key did not work at all right out of the box. After a week of rewriting with technical support, I did a Factory reset and it worked.
