I have owned and operated an oceanfront rental for over 10 years, booking from May 1st to October 1st for a minimum of 3 nights. Mattress covers are bleach washed between all guests - every 3-7 days! Sand is as common as air; it is ALWAYS present, even in mattress pads which tend to cut through the fabric fibers over time. Over the years I've spent a small fortune on mattress pads (up to $95-100 each) every year and sometimes twice a year. Even the most expensive ones literally fall apart, fray, tear, etc., especially on the sides, because most of them use cheap materials like recycled plastic throughout (think those first 99 cents of reusable recycled grocery bags—yes, THESE). the top and they were all poorly equipped. I ordered several of these mattress covers in June 2016 after the two month old ones (2 at $89 each) literally fell apart. Having bought every brand and style of mattress pad known to man, nothing compares to it and I will never buy a mattress pad other than this one as long as I live! They are so well made from soft yet durable materials and they are perfect for a comfortable fit. They have been perfectly washed about 70 times and, to my surprise, show no signs of wear even with the constant and inevitable infiltration of sand. The rubber band is not even stretched, sits taut. Best of all, this mattress topper has ended the constant cycle of finding and buying another mattress topper and feeling cheated every time for years!
