This is a hard felt. Round wheels give something, but not much. The wheels are also thin enough to let a threaded mandrel through when using a flat surface with pressure. I was interested in the pointy balls - they're not super absorbent, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the material you're using (Blush and Solids work pretty well, Flitz is fine at low speeds but doesn't work at high RPMs, etc. ). You're buying super cheap polishing pads - adjust your expectations accordingly. However, I used them to polish the stern ramps and polish the chambers. The balls are about 9-10mm in diameter, so they work well for my purposes. The wheels work pretty well when using edges, I avoid using flat sides as the mandrel tends to dig.
