I learned a long time ago that a Canon printer MUST use Canon inks unless you're willing to settle for less than to be satisfied with good results when printing. Although expensive, it lasts a long time (for me) and consistently gives me the perfect results on Canon paper (also a bit more expensive) that I need when printing photos. If you are only satisfied with a good result, buy cheap fake ink and paper at a bargain price. If, like me, you want super high quality, Canon ink and paper for Canon printers is the ONLY option.
