These sandals are designed for women with problem feet as the arch of the sandal is high and strong and the metatarsal support is padded. I struggled to find attractive and comfortable sandals until after years of searching I finally found this wonderful sandal. My feet are overpronated with added metatarsal pain and a flat arch, what a relief to find that. Yes they only come in whole sizes but luckily the size 9 fits perfectly and the adjustable straps can be loosened if your feet are swollen at the end of the day. I hope Taos never stops making them.
