Review on 💪 PNY Optima 240GB 2.5-Inch SSD: Enhanced Performance and Reliability by Aaron Jimison

I bought this drive because I've been a fan of PNY RAM in the past. After installing Windows 8.1 and watching the boot time on my HP Z600, I was impressed, but it was slow at times. After some testing, I was constantly finding that writing to disk was slow (copy/paste, loading cached web pages, etc.). After testing the drive, I found that all writes were below 5MB/s. It's just stupid. I thought it was just my SATA controller or bios update or something. But after updating bios and drivers the same thing. So I put the drive in a Lenovo W540 (works great with a Samsung 840 EVO) and the performance stayed the same. When I put it in a third computer, I got the same results and resigned myself to the conclusion that either the drive or the model was bad. In any case, the drive is useless with a write speed of <5 Mbit/s.
