ordered size 10-14 first, mainly because most tights are quite long for my size. 10-14 fits like big or extra large at the waist, I have a 27" waist and they were too loose to stay in place while dancing. Also, 10-14 should only go up to maybe 5ft tall or be charged less, it was almost impossible to get the crotch area high enough for me, so I went back.As for the women's size L, this one fits like a women's size extra small because it's a bit shorter, it fits me, but if if someone is 5ft 5" or taller I would probably say they are a size up. I like them as dance tights, they are snug and don't move. I also like that they are comfortable despite my large hips and curves .
