Overall the screen works great after I had to make some adjustments (that shouldn't have to cost hundreds of dollars for something). I use an Optoma P1 4k ultra short throw projector and it's great. The only problem is that all screen defects are clearly visible, so the screen needs to be perfectly flat. Also, the drywall anchors that come with this stamp sink right into the drywall. Adhesive tape with screws, cheap materials. Another note: the instructions for placing the 1/3 and 2/3 frame wall mount are almost exactly the same as the two support bars behind the frame, so it is highly recommended that you test placement with a sub-frame first. Assembly of the whole screen to hang. I had to drill brand new holes in the wall and redo the position of the wall brackets because I didn't and when it came time to hang it the support rods got in the way. You also need to be careful when hanging the frame or you could knock off the strain relief springs and require extra work to remove the screen from the wall to check that each spring is secured in place. I took off 1 star because I used cheap materials, mostly screws and hanger hardware - the drywall anchors that come with them are the worst I've ever used. The frame is also imperfectly trimmed with rough metal edges, but at least everything fits together, albeit imperfectly, without affecting my final image quality. The screws are terribly brittle, they snap and break easily, and I had a hard time loosening anything after screwing it in, and I didn't even tighten it that much. Just be careful with the mounting materials as they are not of the highest quality and if they break there are no extra screws. So if you're not careful, it's a trip to home storage. Another star deducted for the combination of what others have said and the poor engineering that went into the frame design. I honestly think that if I were Delux Screens I would spend a little time posting the official build video on YouTube and save everyone from following bad instructions from an outdated manual. Assembling is actually simple and straightforward, but poor instructions and pointing out parts that aren't there can result in what should have been easy becoming scratched screens, snapped screws, post-assembly adjustments, or a disappointing end product . the official video is serious if they want to compete. There are many videos on competing product canvases. But to save you some trouble: (Optional) Pre-Assembly - Assemble the top half of the frame, mount the wall brackets where you think they will be, and use the top half of the frame to adjust the wall bracket so that it the projection in front of the full-screen display corresponds to montage. Otherwise you could need extra work and risk damaging the screen during the assembly process. I ran into an issue where the support bars were where the mounting brackets were supposed to hook into the screen as mentioned above. Assembly. First you need to clear the area of debris, 1) assemble the outer frame first - velvet side down, 2) then turn the screen white side down, black side up, 3) insert the tension rods into the screen bushings 4) start with the Hook the springs from the frame into the tie rod with a hook tool, first at the corners, then outwards from the center, following the punched holes in the screen. (The springs come loose fairly easily if you come into contact with them after hooking, so adjust the hooks tighter or just be careful when handling/holding and hanging the frame.) 5) Screw in the two frame support rods . 6) Hang the screen on the supplied wall brackets. Ready. Another frustrating thing is that the frame parts aren't accurate or don't provide enough forgiveness when something isn't accurate. After hanging my 135 inch screen, I found that one of the two support bars was sticking out towards the screen, causing a very noticeable crease that resulted in the screen not being perfectly flat. Lines or side-to-side scrolling and panning on the screen It took me a while to realize that it was one of the screen support rods and not my projector, or maybe the spring was loose, or maybe the screen just wasn't there enough stress that it was has caused. I ended up having to detach the screen and remove this support bar and now everything is perfect. To be honest with a better design it wouldn't have been necessary, especially since we're paying a premium for a pre-made product that's expected to work rather than making our own screens. I might consider another company next time if the prices don't vary too much. Otherwise it works and looks great. The screen itself is great. .update ie 6/23: turns out that both support bars are abutting the screen (photos 3 and 4) which prevents it from being completely flat. Luckily, the one remaining support bar I left in place has no noticeable flaws in projection. I only notice curves at the top of the screen, and only if I pay very close attention if there's a straight line there, which 99% of the time isn't noticeable. But still, it's really annoying if you're a perfectionist who expects a perfectly flat screen, which you're not. I can remove the remaining support bar if this becomes an issue and possibly replace the bar with a custom solution to keep the frame structure intact.
