I live in Michigan where there is a lot of cold, wet weather and snow. I bought these for my 8 and 6 year olds early last winter. They were the best winter boots they've ever had. They're easy to put on and take off, so they're perfect for taking to school in the morning. They played them outside for hours in teenage temperatures and never complained that they were cold or wet. The top of the boots can be easily closed to keep snow out when the laces are tight. Sometimes a little condensation forms inside the boot resulting in minimal moisture, but it's not a big deal. Simply take out the earplugs and dry them over the heating register. By the way, all rubber boots that cover the whole foot do this. Last weekend I went hunting with my son, which was a real test of heat. 29 degrees temperature and sitting motionless in the middle of the forest, hardly moving. Over 2 hours and my son has never complained about cold feet. These boots are a win and worth the money! I recommend buying 1 size up to accommodate thicker winter socks.
