Bought for my 13 year old son and tried it out himself. I found it very convenient. The duvet itself is incredibly soft. It is great. I can pet him like my furry dog and he is as soft as his fur. I love it. I've never had a weighted blanket before and was really surprised at how nice it feels to lie underneath. I have many sleep issues, as well as anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health issues. My son also has his own issues including anxiety and ADHD (we also test him for autism on the advice of doctors as he has some sensory issues and other symptoms not explained by his current diagnosis). I heard these blankets are very good for anxiety and other things. I can't say if that's really the case. I myself have only used it once and my son has slept in it for several nights. He really seems to love it. His bedroom is much colder than mine and he doesn't have as many sleep problems as I do. Personally, it's too hot for me in the long run. For some reason my bedroom is the warmest room in our apartment and I can only sleep when the weather is cold. So I have to leave the AC on to be comfortable which makes the rest of the apartment very cold. So it's great for my son as it's very cold in his room. I tried it out in his room and noticed a difference; his room is much colder than mine and this blanket keeps him warm and I can keep the air conditioning at a temperature that is comfortable for me. In my book, this is pretty much a win-win situation. Based on my own brief experience with this duvet I would have given it 5 stars but my son said to deduct a star because he felt some lumps in the duvet. I didn't really feel it, and he admitted it didn't bother me. But since he has used it more often, I agree with what he says about it. He still says he loves it and uses it every night. He agrees it's really comfortable and he's happy with it. I think this is a really nice blanket. I'm not sure how to wash it. Doesn't look like it can be put in the washing machine but I don't know yet. I'll look into it and post a post wash update to share my experience and how it's holding up after washing. I will also try to remember to take some before and after wash photos for comparison.
