An interesting but confusing flashlight that I think has a major flaw

Well, at first glance it looked like a good inexpensive LED flashlight. However, I took a closer look and skimmed the specs. Well, like I said in the title of this review, it's a bit confusing. Let me start with some positive points. It's fairly bright for its size, 900 lux at 0.5 meters. I appreciate that not only does it have 1/4 bottom and side mounts, it also has an additional offset mounting hole on the bottom. It has a nice wide range of colors from 2500k to 8500k. The 2000 mAh battery powers the flashlight for about 2 hours. It is mainly made of metal, so it looks quite good. Magnets are built into the back of the flashlight so you can just smack it against something metallic and it will stay there. It also includes a small metal mini tripod and a very small ball head. Finally, there's a USB-C charging port, which I always prefer to the micro-USB that's often seen on budget LED lights. Then the strangeness begins. So if you look at the front of the light you can see all the standard colored LED chips, but you can also see a few smaller LED beads in between. They usually mean these are your RGB LEDs. However, this is not the case. It turns out that half of them are just blue and the other half are just red. Now I don't know if that's correct or if it's just a software limitation that only allows those beads to turn red and blue because those beads only light up when you turn on the police car's special effects mode. Effect modes, of which there are 6 in total, there is no way to control the light intensity in these effects. Thus, all special effects modes have the same brightness. Now they claim that this flashlight is IP 67 waterproof, which means you can submerge this flashlight about 3 feet underwater for about half an hour. There is a big problem here. No cover for USB-C charging port! I also don't see how the side buttons are supposed to be waterproof, but maybe there's something under the button to protect them. But the USB-C port is definitely a problem. The water flows directly into the port. If you plug in the charging cable when that area is wet, you will short out and likely turn off the light. Well, even if you always make sure the connector is dry before plugging it in, there's another big problem. These USB-C connectors have metal pins. This means they will corrode over time after getting wet and eventually the connector will stop working. I am very surprised that the manufacturer has not detected a manufacturing defect here. Now they could fix this by just throwing a rubber stopper in the box here, but you would also need to find a way to attach the stopper to the lantern when it's not in use, otherwise you'll quickly lose it due to its small size. Size. A confusing little light. In my opinion the company should remove any mention of it being IP67 here unless they figure out the problem with the USB-C connector. Again, if you take away the fact that this flashlight is waterproof , they really should not charge 50 for it . Dollar.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
