I have just bought and assembled the crib but my baby is not here yet. So here is an overview of the building process and which mattress you should buy. The assembly process is not as easy as many say, but doable. After assembly, we also noticed some small scratches. I'm not sure if it was already there or if it was the result of our struggles during the build process. But overall the bed is good and well made. At around 4 months he started rolling around in the crib more and started sleeping on his stomach. So this bed quickly became small for him (in width). But it worked great for us from 0 to 5 months.
