UPDATE: Don't give up in this cat cave too soon. Our last foster child arrived around the same time as him and seemed really undersized. But guess who I found sleeping in it yesterday? For a few weeks she was very dismissive, but now it was suddenly her favorite thing in the whole world. Now when she lies in it, the padding seems to shrink more and it feels more spacious inside than before. So don't be too quick to dismiss this if it feels small/crampy at first. I have to reiterate what others have said about sizing. It was much smaller inside than I expected. I thought we would get by with our little cat who weighs barely 8lbs but she won't even try. I would be surprised if this worked for more than one growing kitten. I can try removing the padding, putting on something thinner and sewing it back on, or at least we could use that for adopted kittens in the future. But if you have an adult cat I would recommend purchasing a different item. However, the quality is good, only the available inner size is too small for each of our 4 cats.
