I bought it to use as a more or less permanent table lamp. The variety of brightness and color settings is great. I don't like that the power adapter plugs directly into my laptop (which I also use as a desktop). I had to purchase a USB/AC adapter plug to connect the lamp to an outlet (for about an extra $10). Another feature I was looking for in a lamp like this was the ability to charge my Samsung S8 phone without plugging it in. Both the phone and the lamp base indicate that it is charging, but even after a long time, the charge level in the phone does not change.
