NOT FOR MY CJ7! in interior

I have to tell you that I have had a terrible experience with this product. I don't usually write a lot of reviews but this one just made me feel like I had to try and help others. I bought a Trail Max II rear seat to match the front seats, which I also ordered. I haven't gotten the front seats yet. I hope this isn't a repeat. So I pull out my original 1985 CJ7 rear seat, which also folded over and fell off. The bolts were a mistake to get out but they made it in the end. I made sure I was following the 1985 and older instructions. The installation instructions were not written by anyone who actually performed this installation. Front brackets received and installed with some modifications per your instructions. Next I started installing the rear latch bracket. At first the bracket got in the way of my seat belt attachment, but that would probably be fine. However, the big problem was under the jeep. Since I spent a lot of time underneath and was already working on the front bolts, I knew the gas tank was right where they wanted me to drill some holes. So I got under the jeep before I started punching holes in my hull. The latch is approximately 13.5-14 inches from the rear screw on the front brackets. Well, my gas tank is about 8 inches from that rear mount. So unless I dropped the gas tank, there is no way to attach the bracket to the tub. Ditching the gas tank is a lot more than I was willing to put up with for a replacement. Very disappointed as I wanted the back seat to match my front seats. But who knows, the front will probably also have problems. And I expect the instructions to be written by a tech writer who has never seen the underside of a jeep. I hope this review helps others avoid 2 hours with this product. Definitely not for the 1985 CJ7.
