As many others stated, the instructions are not very clear - but if you've put together furniture pieces - and these days who hasn't.you'll be able to figure it out with the instructions included. I'm not clever like that but perhaps someone has put a "how to" on YouTube. The pieces are beautifully finished, everything fit together very well and the "care and feeding" instructions were obviously written by a company that cares about your satisfaction. The balance is also nicely done and although it wouldn't be that hard to knock over, it's a lot sturdier than the standard folding tray table that I purchased it to replace! I bought similar style "kits" from two makers. This company is one that I will gladly recommend and will purchase from in the future. The other (Homfa) was poorly finished, lots of dried stain drips and unstained patches, many many splinters! Off hand I can't tell you the price difference, although I'm sure there is one. Perhaps the quality and the price of the Homfa table are fair by comparison - but if you can make a choice I know you'll be happy with this Newvante table.
