It should be noted that Fuval has addressed complaints about the app and now allows you full control of the light level and color spectrum at any time of the day. I use two of these units which provide enough light for my 15 gallon aquarium with medium sized plants. With the light boost they provide in place of the replaced light bar I will be adding more plants. One of their notable advantages is that they can be turned sideways, giving you full access to your aquarium.
