We believe the materials are food safe as advertised. The design is good - the large opening makes it easy to fill or pour as needed, and the portion valve makes it easy to dispense smaller amounts. We'd buy it again for its good design and price, but it's not the most durable bottle you could find if that were your priority. UPDATE: You failed. Cracks at the corners. Although we made sure to place them carefully after filling, it's obvious that the weight of the water was too much to support the corners. Rating 1 star down. We bought another set of Arrow bottles with a rounder bottom. Hope these last longer.
