Review on πŸ”‹ Arrow 00744 Slimline 2.5 Gallon Container by Black Croom

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good design, performance and price. Although not the most durable - failed.

We use it to store filtered water for drinking and cooking at home. The plumbing in our home and neighborhood is over 100 years old, and while the city's water is generally of excellent quality, we cannot drink unfiltered tap water. The price for her was great and she is doing her job. But as you'd expect, the materials are below par at this price point. The walls are a bit thin. It consists of two half-shells glued or otherwise fused together along a thin seam. At the moment it is water and airtight, but in the long term I don't think so. The valve leaked when we first got it but after simply unscrewing it and replacing the rubber seal it has been watertight for a month now, no problem. . We believe the materials are food safe as advertised. The design is good - the large opening makes it easy to fill or pour as needed, and the portion valve makes it easy to dispense smaller amounts. We'd buy it again for its good design and price, but it's not the most durable bottle you could find if that were your priority. UPDATE: You failed. Cracks at the corners. Although we made sure to place them carefully after filling, it's obvious that the weight of the water was too much to support the corners. Rating 1 star down. We bought another set of Arrow bottles with a rounder bottom. Hope these last longer.
