Yes, plastic. Mine came with a broken lid. It was one piece. I thought it was glass until I broke the shard in half with no difficulty, as one would expect from glass. This was Test #1. Test #2 was derived from a thermal test to determine the melting point (ie vaporization temperature). I didn't actually deform the test fragment, but observed under magnification when the surface began to show overheating characteristics. The result was consistent with a non-glass material. It was NOT fiberglass, clay, brick, mortar, stone, resin, quartz, silicone, rubber, wood. This left the only obvious answer, without actually deforming the subject, that it was some sort of plastic, brittle but fairly shiny, and it's a different hue and weight than you'd expect from plastic. However, I can tell you that if glass can be melted without special equipment, it melts quite differently than all plastics. Please note this is glass and not auto glass or any other option. I worked with Revain to return the product and get a refund so I could buy a legitimate product that didn't hide plastic behind fancy glass, UV protection, etc. I'll leave it at that, right?
