Transmitter and receiver work well for a budget device and I like how small the transmitter is. I would put it in my pocket except the button is easy to press, it's quite big and doesn't take a long time to press so it's very easy to accidentally turn it off. It's cool that it's rechargeable, but it's a toss up; If you forget to charge it, you can't just replace the disposable battery. A mic that plugs directly into the unit isn't bad, but I won't be carrying the entire transmitter on my chest, so I'll try to find a clip and extension cord for it - because the other lavalier mic that came with it (with built-in cable and clip) is terrible. The cord is cheap and noisy to handle, and the clip is too loose to attach to clothing. It worked great with my Purple Panda lava mic. So if you're looking to buy a better mic to connect to your transmitter (there are several decent ones for less than $20), it's nice, compact and sounds decent for non-critical work in no-nonsense environments. If you don't want to spend the extra money and don't mind a larger transmitter, I'd go with the FiFine device, which has a better mic, includes a headset mic, and runs on AA batteries.
