Great product. It's very pretty and perfect for a gift. But the lights don't generate heat like Himalayan lamps should. The purifying properties come from the fact that the salt is heated and releases positive ions, which makes the air positively charged. Because the light is an LED and not an incandescent bulb, which can get hot, it doesn't have the characteristics of other salt lamps. This is purely a decorative item and does not have the purifying properties that Himalayan salt lamps have if that is what you believe. However, if you are just looking for a beautiful lamp, this is perfect for any table and environment. In addition, without a heating lamp, it can be considered less flammable. ;)
